Air humidification in spa- and wellness facilities.

Regulated heat and hygienic steam in wellness facilities provide a clean, healthy air humidity to ensure guests are relaxed, rejuvenated and comfortable.

Here is an overview of the advantages of air humidification in spa- and wellness facilities:

  • Gentle stimulation of blood circulation and metabolism
  • Body detoxification and purification by sweating out harmful substances
  • Cleansing of the airways, mucosal moistening and prevention of colds
  • Strengthening of the immune system and body´s defences
  • Relaxing effect on the nervous system
Steam bath

Steam baths are characterised by moist heat at 100% humidity and relatively low temperatures (approximately. 45-50°C). They have a rejuvenating effect on tense nerves and cramped muscles. The skin pores open, enabling a deep cleansing and detoxification.

Steam showers

A steam shower consists of three components: the shower attached to the cabin ceiling (also referred as a rain shower), the steam generator, which produces hot steam into the shower cubicle through steam nozzles, and massage jets, which spray thin water jets into the cabin. Similar to the steam baths, the hot steam helps muscles to relax and cleans skin pores.

Bio-sauna

The bio-sauna is the modern alternative to the traditional Finnish sauna: it stimulates the circulation, nourishes the skin and strengthens the immune system. In a bio-sauna, the temperatures is up to 60°C with a relative humidity of 50-60%.

Mud steam baths

Mud steam baths require a relative humidity of up to 80% and temperature of 40-50°C. After a shower, mud is applied on the body and left to dry. Then as selected herbs are evaporating into the air, the humidity increases and softens the mud again, which can be massaged. The aromatherapy combined with mud steam baths help improve blood circulation and strengthen the immune system.

Hamam

A Hamam (also known as a Turkish bath), is designed as a multi-room steam bath. The temperature increases from room to room from approximately 25° to 45°C (with a relative humidity of 80-95%). The mix of steam and water helps eliminating dead skin. The Hamam master performs a cleaning ritual on a massage table by vigorously massaging the body and rubbing off old, dead skin. The cold and warm water jets help to improve blood circulation and boost metabolism.

Caldarium

A caldarium is a relatively gentle steam and inhalation bath, with a temperature of approximately 47°C and high level of humidity. A caldarium session improves blood circulation, stimulates the metabolism and has a positive impact in the respiratory, circulatory and immune systems.

Hot yoga

Hot yoga is a type of workout, which takes place in a humidified and heated (around 40°C) room. These conditions improve health and help with weight loss. Steam humidifiers combined with steam distributors provide the room with the desired amount of relative humidity of up to 80%, creating ideal conditions for hot yoga.
